    And so it ends.

The koi have gone to their new home.
    The diy filter as gone.
The pond it emptied and the demolishing starts.

As you can see the sides are used as hardcore.

A bit more graft then top soil and turf..

It's sad when you have to give up this hobby.

I've already got a plan for the end of this one whenever that may be.
I'm thinking of eventually filling much of it in and turning it into a sunken garden with a dry pebble "stream," from the waterfall to what is presently the filter return under the imitation bridge.
I'll pave some of it and transfer some of the dozen or so ceramic pots presently on the patio into it. I don't think it'll look too bad, as the rockery and pergola and rail will remain.
I'll just build a couple of steps down, breaking through the middle of the narrow border next to the patio.

Almost finished with the sds on the concrete ledge..
Do that tomoz then cover the lot with topsoil and you would not even think that a pond was there once..

The soil from these 2 flower beds which had loads of stones in it 2as removed to layer the hardcore.

    The soil covered below.

Reason for removing those two flower beds is that fresh soil is going in and then turfed over..

    First layer of top soil.....

Wonder if you were the previous owner of my house?

Every time we dig somewhere we find tonnes of hardcore!

Even just putting flower border edging 10cm deep along the side of the garden and we removed 6 rubble sacks of bricks and blocks and a gold pocket watch!

It was painful just seeing the pond broken up, must be quite tough for you.

Well ive tried not to think about it tbh but it hits home when somebody asks "How are the koi mate i bet they have grown"...
But ive got on with it even in this heat..

Made huge progress the past two days....

When we first bought the house the back lawn practically vanished over two wet winters so i dug out drainage channels and i removed a full motor bike frame that still had the handle bars on and the front fork and even the chrome mud guards.
The frame was standing up right would you believe.

I also dug up a front section of an old wolesley inc head lights...

Now that is some serious crap..

After a wasted 4hrs due to a delay on fence panels etc arriving i sat waiting twiddling my thumbs and topping up the tan..
Anyway first thing i had to do was to remove two rotten fence panels and put in two more concrete gravel boards and two fence panels of which i had to trim each one to fit..

The garden is now starting to take shape..
We have been using recycled materials.
    Blocks.
    Slate.
    Beams.

Next is the decking of which my mate as managed to wangle a load off a landscapping mate of his who over ordered on them.
I may have to purchase a couple though..

    Short video enjoy..
