Garden Tour
I've mentioned before that our koi pool is only one element of our garden, but it certainly adds to the ambiance.
Not a lot has changed in the last thirty years.

Stunning garden Doghouse, the beautiful azaleas must like the soil in your garden.
Have to put them in containers round here for best results.
Is it all your own work or do you have a “gardener” like I do (the missus).

I like my gardens a little more lush and wild and less manicured but that's a personal taste thing.
You certainly have a space to be proud of and it shows how much hard work you have put in. You must be very proud!
What i really love though are your wisteria! I've always loved them but my wife doesn't. I wanted to plant them 20 years ago when we moved in but i lost the debate. Sadly now she has agreed, but they take years to mature and flower. I am envious!

Everything you see I built myself, over thirty years ago, "when I was working and had more time."
We've rung the changes with plants over time. There's no bedding plants. It's just a case of running over the lawn with a Flymo a couple of times a week. Hard edges to the lawn so no "edging," the Flymo just passes over them. A bit of weeding and pruning.
I call it a "low maintenance garden," but that's just a lie.
Sadly my wife can no longer help as she has MS and is far less mobile than she was even ten years ago. But the garden has a nice aspect for her from her chair in our lounge near our French windows.
Pool maintenance is a purge of the bottom drain once a week and a scrape of the foam (8sq ft of it) of my old-fashioned big foam and Flowcore filter every other year. My water parameters are always so consistently acceptable, I hardly ever bother to test it.
If you've a koi pool then you don't need containers. Mine get a feed from the dregs of the pump sump every week. After purging and pumping to waste, the drain pump can't lift the last two inches of mucky water out of the sump. So it takes two goes with a wet n' dry vac. I then transfer this to a watering can, diluting it 50/50 with water, which gives me about 15ltrs of slightly acid liquid. This gets fed to all the acers and rhodos. They really love diluted fish poo!"The information's out there,

I agree diluted fish poo is excellent on the garden.
My rhubarb loves the stuff!
