The pond must have had at least 3000 gallons in it.
At least 70 rocks and super slippery floor.
As soon as I turned up a local came out to see what we was up to but I had all the answers and names for him.
Im glad I did the right thing and waited for RSPCA to get permission

Sorry no we didnt catch it. The water is pea green and could barely see the koi
We saw it when we first turned up but as soon as we moved the nets in the water it stirred all the muck up
The pond must be 35 foot long and 12 foot wide. The water was about 30" deep
The water needs to be pumped out. I had a pump and an extension lead but no power on site
So many rocks in the pond for the koi to hide.
We waited for ages to see if the water we settle to see if the koi would reappear but nothing

I dont hold much hope for the poor koi as the amount of slurry that was stirred up and the amount of foul smelling bubbles that came up from the bottom whilst trying to catch it
The bubbles were coming out from under the liner where it was split. There were great big pockets of air which turned the area into a jacuzzi
    Such a shame

Couldn't the local busybody direct you to a power source for the pump? Pity the busybody wasn't concerned enough to go try help the fish himself.

Have you heard back from the RSPCA about assistance with a pump?

You could consider approaching the local media along with perhaps a local hire-store. The hire-store lend you a generator for free in exchange for the publicity. The media get a nice little story. The local press would be all over that. Worth considering.

Well done for getting involved. Quality chap.

I just looked on google earth and you can see what I first thought was a grassed area behind the pub, but now there are pic posted I can tell what I thought was grass is the pond. So its been green since at least the last google image pass over. That so bad. they want prosecuting. Shame it didn't come to light sooner.

I have been in contact with the RSPCA and they said were 'dealing' with the owners and putting a possible prosecution case together.
I have no idea what happened to any fish that were in the pond as i was told they were dealing with it now
Hopefully they emptied the pond and re homed the koi
