    Summer and winter cover ideas?

    Hi All

My pond is a 2x3m rectangle and I was thinking of making 2 or 3 wooden framed netted panels so I can have a cover which can be removed in sections easily . My pond will be in the sunlight for over half of the day so in order to keep the direct sun off, I was going to make one of the cover panels opaque to provide some sun protection for the fish. What material do you suggest I use for this? A friend of mine has used dense scaffolding net. Ive also seen black polycarbonate used which could double up as a winter cover also?

What summer and winter cover setups do you guy have? what materials?

    Thanks

10mm Twinwall polycarbonate, fixed onto a frame with a feeding hatch.

There’s a similar Thread going currently...

Thanks Rob, Just for winter use? Do you not get the greenhouse heating affect in the summer?

Just be careful if you use netting that it is koi friendly.
Some netting like the type used in roof spaces on ventilated soffit boards to prevent mice etc from getting in has been treated with some nasties your koi would definitely not like. Not sure if scaffold mesh would be ok or not.
