Like you, tend not to really bother as I’ve never had issues with blanket weed/green water.
Regular maintenance; making sure no sediment in bottom of the pond (why bottom drains are so good at removing all of that) and a decent UV for obvious reasons.
Your source water will probably have a Phospate level as you say, so a good purifier ‘trickling in’ is well worth having (I’d say one of the most essential bits of kit on a pond) - although won’t make a difference to PO4 itself; it will remove any other nasties your water company may throw at you.
PO4 is also not harmful to fish as you probably know, for interest Microbe-Lift provide a proprietary remover, never tried it myself.

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
