Yep, I've started banning IP addresses that spammers have used, Im hoping this will reduce the spam. I only started this in the last week so I might need to catch a few before it shows its impact. All of the spam has been deleted and usually is pretty quick. All the spammers are then banned and as of now their IPs blocked from accessing the site.
Cheers
Steve

At least it was obvious what the posts were, some of the older members might have popped thier clogs if they had unwittingly open them.

is there any way to quarantine posts when reported? I can only assume the mods get a number of reports for each stream/porn thread

on some forums if a threads reported it automatically gets quarantined, same with new members having to have their first x number of posts approved before they go live
the members dont have the ability other than reporting to cause a thread to be locked, and its easy to see if they are abusing this and sort accordingly

Just because you want a post deleted doesn't mean the mods will agree with you. That's what mods are for. Report the posts and they will be soon dealt with.
Im sure that Admin is using the shared database of spamming IP ranges to auto block a lot of crap. Something will always creep through from time to time as the mods do actually have lives and are not on here 24/7

All sorted. I do have in mind to move the forum to Xenforo, which is a better forum platform, works perfectly on mobile (no need for tapatalk) and has better anti spamming and spam dealing functionality. But Im conscious you went through a big change only last year and also it will cost me quite a bit in time and money. Perhaps towards the back end of this year would be a good time.

There was a load more rubbish threads posted again today......Would it not be worth giving a few of us access to put these into a trash folder that the mods can review and do what they want with them.
It will help keep the forum neat and tidy plus we could delete everything that PWNN has to say5000 Gallon Fibreglassed Pond With 54" x 27" Infinity Window
