Not Koi but fishy related
This will be my view for a few hours dangling this evening, River Saone, downstream of Chalon sur Saone.
Gear ready, carte de peche purchased. Waiting for the temperature to cool down and the paella to be cooked and eaten later then we are off to try and catch a monster carp or catfish. We won't but it will be a pleasant way of spending the evening (and the following 6!!!!)
Caravan and Disco looking shiny on arrival
Weather looking to take a turn for the worse, some thunder coming again. Oh well, glad we are not in a tent!!!
Note to self, next time don't park the caravan under an oak tree. Acorns do t half make you jump when the fall off in the middle of the night!!

Wait till you see a 200lb one then john, hopefully he'll catch you one and show you.
They give a really good fight like considering they are just a giant tadpole with a bucket for a mouth.

Think you'd need a week on this river....did a coupe of hours last night and had a Bream, all of 2lbs lol off to find a decent lake or two later if I can drag everyone out on a road trip.
John, I knew you'd have to trump me...killer whales eh? Doesn't get much better than that!!! Would love to see those in the wild

I know mate it's just a fisherman a thing haha you really try beef yourself up over who's got the best catch. I'd love to see a orca in it's natural habitat but you would be a fool to even try and catch one if these.
Are they protected ?

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
