I don't think I want to hear what Omosako-san thinks of my fish :D
looking good people. you have all done a grand job there. some nice one s there. nice to see photos in a couple of years
To cut a long story short it might take a few weeks to find out who has won. I've spoke to Darren and he said that Taka Hiro Omosako will let us know but it might take time for him to get to it. Basically my take on it is they are rushed off their feet this time of year with it being harvest time for koi not only at Omosaki but the majority of koi farms in Japan.
Sit tight and as soon as I know you will too.
I currently am again, although they were on Queni Koi food for quite a while following buying some at show prices to try and I also had a big sample bag of another food given to me that I used this summer. So ive used more of a variety of foods than I normally do this summer.
I have a lovely Cuttlebrok shiro I bought at their autimn harvest last septermber who has pure white skin, inky black sumi and a lovely althletic body shape- in the same pond :D
As I said, this Omosako one is pigging out on more than its fair share of the food, and I have been unwilling to hold back the growth of other fish in my pond to keep it slimmer :o
just looking at the pics of mine from only the other week and mines got noticeably more sumi now, though no tin any kind of recognisable feature or pattern, just random bits and bobs.
just wondering if we can submit another updated pic, mines 90 cm now. :D

:D:D
Mine has more sumi coming in now as I'm dropping the pond temp- now at 18.5C. I think mine will look much better by christmas heh.
What is going to be really interesting is to see how these fish look next summer. So far an amazing variation in development. Will the ones that have grown quickly suffer for that in the long term, or will they come into their own in a year or twos time?
I'm wishing I had got a couple now so I could compare my own too.
Just a thought is there anything gonna happen for next year :D

I’m in for another grow n show, something I can see change and develop just like the shiros we have
what would people be interested in? If there’s any interest at all :-)
To be honest I'd like to go for a Goromo but would go with the flow
I would be interested in doing this.

Count me in.
Love a goromo. I'm sure I have a little bit of space [emoji16][emoji1360]
Feline - I think yours is going to be a monster of a koi. Yeah it's a bit portly but what struck me was the size of its head compared to the others.
Still no news about our Shiro G&S. All pictures are with Darren so don't worry.
I might have ago at another G&S if someone wants to run one but I could do with moving on two or three koi next year for space.:)
yeah I'm overstocked, got about 30 in the garage
would love to post another pic of mine , its got loads of sumi coming through now , I cant say wether its gonna be a decent or pattern or not but its changing rapidly, I aint catching it again though without a good reason.

We are waiting on Darren to sort it. He's doing us a favour so don't worry I have every confidence in his word that it will get sorted. I think he's back out to Japan in December again so it might be then.
When I know you guys, you will.:)
How about we think about next years.......keep our winter koi spirits up!!
