View Full Version : hmmm plecos?????
have seen that some people keep plecos in their pond in unheated and bring them in at winter
is this really possible??????
I have two12 inch sailfin Pleco`s in My pond all Year round.
Yes I do heat the pond thoughout the year.
I am at 25 degrees at the moment and drop down to about 18 degrees in the Winter. They have been in there just over a year and have grown so much its unreal.

hi
whats a pleco? ???
an algae eating fish for aquariums
there you go
I put mine out last summer, when I was unheated they were fine, I didnt fit a heater to My pond until late October. I then added a heater and raised the temperature up to 19 degrees from 14 degrees and decided to leave them in. I had planned like yourself to just let them have a summer outside and bring them in for winter.
Go on put Yours out for the summer and watch it get fat on all the nice algae in Your pond.
