Salt at 3% and Water Lilies.
Quick question guys n gals. Sadly i can't go into the why's etc for a few reasons, but will a dose of salt at 3% added to the water kill Water Lilies in an existing pond or should they be removed ?
Sorry to be somewhat illusive with the above question but I have to respect people's wishes. Thanks for understanding.

Are you sure you mean 3% and not 0.3%?
I don't think water lilies like salt much, and can die with as little as 0.2%.
It would be better to remove the plants and PP them in a separate container if it's parasites etc. you are trying to treat.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

I have added 0.3% salt with my water lilies and other plants in place and they survived with no real noticeable impact

That's good to know apbarr. I've decided to add the salt and keep my fingers crossed. On a brighter note, I've noticed in my pond this morning I've Fry ! That was a nice surprise. I'll whip them out as I see them and grow them on for someone in the future.
Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
