Equisetum Hymale
See these....
Equisetum Hymale -
I put some of these in a floating basket. They weren't doing very well. I thought they were dead. Then i noticed some tiny shoots growing off a stem that was drooping in the water.

Not only that but there appears to be the ghost of a gorrilla holding the branch !
Should i just leave it be? Or cut them off and put them in a seperate basket so they don't get munched/crunched by the koi?

Aaaah well. They've gone now so either the koi or the gorrila got to them first.
Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
