Pond Plants that don't get eaten?
Over quite some years we have tried potted pond lilies, Elodea Crispa that oxygenating plant, other floating pond plants, but every single one has been gobbled up my the fish. Anybody think they were starving little blighters.
The only plant that ever survived was a now banned floating plant.
Can anyone recommend a plant that the Koi wouldn't eat?
Many thanks.

Unless you got a massively well grown on plant and disinfected it before putting in the pond I wouldn't bother.
They will eat anything and everything given the chance

I have quite sucessively had lillies in my pond for a few years now, once you have a lot of them they get tired of eating them and leave them alone.
I suppose the secret is to get enough of them in thereJohn

I think you can use pottassium permanganate [ if thats how you spell it ] it wont kill plants but it gets rid of most other things.

Pond Plants that don't get eaten?
As john said mate, a dose of pp will help kill off any critters that may be lurking within the plants. Best to do this in a bucket for a good few hours (same as if dosing the pond only no need to neutralise it) before putting them in the pond

or just quarantine them in a bin/ other sufficiently deep water body for a month and allow them to grow before introduction

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
